my dog i had to leave behind upon my departure from Cape Town, South Africa where i resided for 4 years.
to say it broke my heart to leave this beautiful face is a complete understatement. A dog becomes like a human to its owner, and i had streams of tears dribbling down my face as i drove down the driveway to the airport.
as fall falls upon us, and the temperatures drop below zero, i am faced with the lonely nights of tea + cuddles from my giant blanket, longing for the warm snuggle of Mr. Romeo, my main man!
i have a bajillion photos on my computer from these past few months...

fall inspiration: natural + bed head hair, dancing skies, joyous smiles, hats galore, tender moments, vintage sweaters, surf dreams, basic black, lush lips, lisa simpson, honey crisp apples, braids, vintage military, dancing with the leaves under my feet, cozy tea dates, walks through central park (anyone want to join?), being grateful for every moment of every day...
i feel horrible for up and leaving like that. but it wasn't a planned break, it just sort of happened. It felt natural and needed, but i've never forgotten about it OR you.
my heart has been stirring again, to rekindle this blog.
I am just so passionate about life, giving + people and if i inspire one person, then it makes my heart full, and every word written and every picture posted worthwhile.

my trip to cali just reaffirmed my desire to move back to the west coast after my ny journey.
i need to live by the water. it just brings me so much joy.

Off to Cali for the week to a small surf town 3 hours south of LA.
i can't wait to surf my little heart out, lay outside and count the stars, wear my flannel when the nights get cold, hike mountains and revel at the views, delve into my book on the beach and just be, oh and laugh until my tummy hurts.

the coffee is superb. the employees are true genuine people, who i love. and it's a place in the city where you can simply get away from it ALL... the outdoor garden is pure bliss.
it's their one year anniversary today... and i know big things are to come ( they already are)... it's truly inspirational seeing people who are passionate, living their dream, and spreading the love.
yes it's 11 minutes, but seriously, it will inspire you beyond belief.

i want to book a ticket to Uganda and go build a skate ramp.

a lot has changed for me since moving to NY. i love every moment, but i do know my journey will lead me elsewhere.
