breast friends.

I know this is not fashion related.
BUT we're all women, sisters, aunts, mothers and I know this has touched someone you love.
Breast Cancer.
It not only took my grandmother, but my beautiful, beautiful mother.
It will strike 1 in 7 and every 2 seconds another female is diagnosed.
SO since October is Breast Cancer awareness month I simply wanted to spread the word.
Do a charity walk. donate 5 dollars. visit a friend who just needs someone to listen to them...
I got this tattoo of a pink ribbon with love. 5 years ago. and everyday is reminds me of my angels.
Thanks for being such beautiful ladies. inside and out.
xo.

***EDIT***

You will NEVER know how much this means to me. thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Love, this is such a beautiful commemoration. I'm sure both your grandmother and mother are looking down feeling absolutely pleased with their thoughtful and beautiful daughter and grand-daughter :)

It doesn't matter that it is not directly related to fashion. It is an important issue to highlight and very fitting for this month.

My heart is with you for your losses

Aw, I am so sorry you lost your grandmother and mother to breast cancer. :'( But I'm glad to see you post something like this, so we can be inspired and help raise awareness too! And this picture, though slightly sad, is so lovely too.

Aw, yeah we might just be able to set a record though, for the longest chain of back and forth compliments! ;) Really though, I've noticed I subconciously always saved you comments to reply to last, just like the whole, "Save the last for best" saying. :)

Aw, hope your finals are going okay, even though they are a drag, always, aren't they? But oh my goodness, I am a pro at procrastination, so I know the feeling! ;)

Loved hearing what you would like to see changed in the world... I agree with them all, but especially racism. If anything, I love to hang out with people of all different colors, cultures, and customs... it's so enlightening. However I sometimes am unable to connect with people of different colors and cultures, because they don't want anything to do with me. Anyway, I've actually been meaning to do an entry on racism and such...

Ok well, my toes are ice cubes now... must go hunt down my slippers! Hope you're day is going well, lovely, and the finals aren't dragging you down too bad!

xoxo,
S-C

Aw, I'm so sorry to hear about your Mom, dear. :( My aunt went through it as well. Luckily she is fine now. I just bought all of my kitchen supplies in pink (where a fine percentage goes to breast cancer research!) I love to help out any way I can.

Thanks for the lovely comments. And you, my dear, are looking lovelier than EVER! If I could, I would HUG you.... ♥

So sad to hear about your mother and grandmother :( It's like the disease is absolutely everywhere and we can't even stop it. I hope you are well, but I'm sure your mom & grandmother would be very proud of you! Really, I think it takes a lot of courage to talk about things so personal so openly. Wish you the best!

Sorry for your loss my sweet.
But its great that you bring up such an important issue. And great cause to always help and donate to!

My boyfriends mum has just been diagnosed, and went for her first round of chemo yesterday. It's pretty scary and surreal..

You are a lovely woman Lisa! You've made me cry....
This is a devastating disease. You can't imagine how much I hate Cancer.

My mother suffers from leucemia since last 31 October 2007. It has been my worst year but fortunatelly she is recovering quite well since they made her the marrow transplant. She is so happy now with her little granddaughter (which is 3 months old) and with her grandson that will arrive soon that I always pray she will be here with all of us so many years!

My heart is with you for your losses :(

I know how you feel and thank you for spreading the word on such a great cause. My mother was diagnosed with breast cancer when I was 8 and thankfully she has been cancer free since I was about 10. I'm so glad to have my mother and I want more families to be with their loved ones for a long, long time. I know your grandmother and mother would be proud. People like my mother are thankful for people like you who help find a cure.
